BLURRED BOUNDARIES

'Through mixed-medium material exploration, this body of work is centred on overwhelming feelings of isolation one can feel in a city as bustling, vibrant and perpetual as London, a city that appears so far-removed from any terms associated with loneliness or segregation. By focusing on juxtapositions between the characteristics of hard and soft materials, their strength or vulnerability, their transparency and malleability, and mimicking, distorting or translating these features across mediums, this work plays on the boundaries of this city’s power to isolate, whilst leaving you never truly on your own'.
- Blurred Boundaries, MIA MAI, 2019

Mia combined her conceptual research and material experimentation to write and produce the mini book 'Red Wine In Bed' in which she explored her own experiences alongside imagery of her produced works.
